621 Madrid Street, originally a 1908 cottage, has been lovingly maintained and expanded to create a wonderful home that masterfully blends period charm with contemporary design. The home is located on a tree-lined block of the sunny Excelsior neighborhood and offers a desirable floor plan with three bedrooms, two baths and direct garden access on the main level.

The living room with west and north views including Twin Peaks and the San Francisco skyline in the horizon graciously flows into the formal dining room. A chef’s kitchen with stainless appliances, stone counters, a center island with undercounter microwave oven and plentiful cabinets will be the inspiration for many delicious meals. Adjacent to the kitchen is a patio with barbecue that leads to the expansive and elegantly designed garden with City views, verdant flower beds and an elevated seating area. Your garden oasis is the perfect place to relax or entertain friends.

The primary suite, completed in 2016, provides a tranquil sanctuary and overlooks the beautiful garden. A spa-like bath is outfitted with quartz counters, porcelain tiles and a skylight. Two bedrooms and a remodeled bath with jetted-tub complete the home’s main floor. A large family room with built-in shelves and cabinets, multi-use flex space with sink and laundry are located on the lower level.

The home is convenient to 280/101, MUNI, John McLaren Park, Crocker Amazon Soccer Fields, shopping, and restaurants.

The Neighborhood

621 Madrid Street

The Excelsior runs along Mission Street, south of the 280 and north of Geneva Avenue. The Excelsior Playground boasts vivid murals along with the tennis courts and recreation center, and the 56-acre Crocker-Amazon Park offers basketball, tennis and bocce ball courts as well as baseball and soccer fields. Local businesses, such as the acclaimed Tortas Boos Voni eatery, sit comfortably alongside young families and old-time residents. The Excelsior Festival, for the purpose of drawing people together in a family-friendly environment, pays homage to this neighborhood's cultural diversity. This neighborhood was once home to Grateful Dead singer/guitarist Jerry Garcia, and today hosts the annual "Jerry Day," drawing thousands of celebrants to John McLaren Park and the lovely Jerry Garcia Amphitheater.
